I have decided to start adding fun designy/illustratory things to this blog besides my own art. I think it is important to draw inspiration from the design world and be interested in the works of contemporary artists and artists passed.
Here are some beautiful 1997 stamps I found in an antique store in Savannah a few years ago. They include great composers and conductors like George Szell...and some not so great *cough*cough* Stokowski *cough*. The painting is beautiful, but I mean come on! Stokowski's 1939 Fantasia version of Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" (one of my favorite pieces of music)is one of the worst directed versions of anything. EVER.
BUT look! Pretty stamps!
